Benefits administration & technology
We run the administration for you.
Combined Benefits Administrators handles the day-to-day benefits work for employers: enrollment, payroll deductions, carrier changes, and eligibility. We do it in-house, so it does not land on your HR team.
The operating layer
One change in. Synced everywhere.
Employers spend real money picking good plans, then almost none on how those plans get run. That is where it breaks down. We sit between your payroll and your carriers and run that work ourselves.
What we run
The day-to-day work we take off your team
- 01EnrollmentOpen enrollment and new-hire enrollment, set up and run for you, so your people are enrolled correctly and on time.
- 02Payroll-deduction syncDeductions kept matched to coverage as people are added, changed, and removed, so payroll and benefits never drift apart.
- 03Direct carrier connectionsWe connect to your carriers and handle the updates ourselves, so a change actually reaches the carrier instead of sitting in someone's inbox.
- 04Eligibility and life eventsNew hires, terminations, and qualifying life events processed and kept current across every plan.
- 05Billing reconciliationAfter we clean up the bill at the start, we keep the carrier invoice and payroll matched going forward, so it stays accurate and overcharges do not creep back in.
A signature first step
We start by auditing your bill
When we take over, we line up what you deduct from payroll against what your carriers actually bill you. They almost never match. The same two gaps turn up almost every time we take a new plan over.
Terminated, still billed
People who left months ago, still on the carrier invoice and still costing you every month.
Paying, never enrolled
Employees with a deduction coming out of payroll who were never actually added at the carrier. If something happens to them, that is a serious problem.
We clean all of it up before we run anything forward. You start with a clean slate instead of carrying last year's errors into the next one.
Many locations, one benefits program.
A workforce split across multiple sites is the hardest to administer. We keep payroll, carriers, and eligibility accurate at every one of them, so it is run cleanly from a single place.
Switching to CBA
What the first 90 days looks like
Switching brokers is supposed to take work off your team, not add it. We do the onboarding ourselves, and it starts the same way every time.
We audit your bill
We reconcile what you deduct from payroll against what your carriers actually bill, line by line, and flag the discrepancies, including people who left but are still billed and people paying for coverage they were never enrolled in.
We build the connections
We gather your data and set up the payroll and carrier connections and eligibility rules, so a change flows to the right place automatically instead of sitting in someone's inbox.
You start on a clean slate
Discrepancies are resolved and payroll, carriers, and eligibility are in sync before we run anything forward, so you are not carrying last year's errors into the new plan year.
Common questions
Administration questions
- Who handles benefits admin if I do not have a big HR team?
- We do. CBA runs enrollment, payroll-deduction sync, carrier changes, and eligibility, so the work does not depend on the size of your HR department. Your team approves decisions and we do the processing.
- Do my employees come to me or to CBA?
- They can come straight to CBA. We field and resolve employee benefits questions directly, so they are not all routed through you and your team stops being the benefits help desk. You stay in the loop without having to chase down every answer.
- Do integration capabilities exist with our payroll system?
- Most of the time. We have integration capabilities with 175 of the top payroll providers. CBA builds and maintains the connection between your payroll system, your carriers, and the employee record, so deductions and eligibility match without manual re-keying. We set this connection up during onboarding.
- Will switching brokers create a mess for my HR team?
- No. We do the onboarding work ourselves: gathering your data, building the connections, and reconciling your billing. The point of the move is to take work off your team.
