Who we serve

Benefits for multi-location and multi-state employers.

The more locations, payroll systems, carriers, and states an employer has, the harder benefits are to run. That is exactly where CBA is strongest. We keep the whole program in sync, as one team, across every site.

A single-site employer with one payroll and one carrier is simple. Add locations, a second or third payroll group, a stack of carriers, different eligibility rules, and employees in more than one state, and benefits become a job on their own. With most brokers, that job falls to your HR team. CBA runs it instead. We are a benefits broker and administrator, licensed nationwide, and we keep enrollment, payroll, carriers, eligibility, and compliance in sync across every location.

Why it is hard

The complexity is not one thing. It is several at once.

  • Multiple locations, often in more than one state
  • More than one payroll group, sometimes more than one system
  • A stack of carriers across medical, dental, vision, life, and disability
  • Different eligibility rules by location, class, or hours
  • Very different employee populations, from salaried to hourly to seasonal

The harder your workforce is to administer, the more we help.

The same errors, repeated at every site.

When CBA takes over a plan, the first thing we do is line up what you deduct from payroll against what your carriers actually bill. They almost never match, and two gaps turn up almost every time:

  • Terminated, still billed. People who left months ago, still on the carrier invoice and still costing you.
  • Paying, never enrolled. Employees with a deduction coming out of payroll who were never actually added at the carrier.

At one location, that is a handful of errors. Across ten, it is the same mistakes repeated ten times, in ten sets of records, on ten invoices. We find them, reconcile them, and clear them before we run anything forward, so you do not carry last year's errors into the new plan year at a single site. See the billing audit in full.

How we keep every location in sync

One change in. Synced everywhere.

A change at any site, a new hire, a termination, a life event, enters once and flows through CBA to the right payroll system, the right carrier, and the employee record. Nothing is entered twice, and nothing is missed, no matter which location it came from.

  1. 01 Different payroll systemsMost of the time we can integrate with your payroll providers, across 175 of the top systems, so a change at one site does not have to be re-keyed into another.
  2. 02 Eligibility that differs by siteRules vary by location, class, and hours. We keep each one current instead of forcing a single rule across every site.
  3. 03 One set of records, not tenPayroll, carriers, and eligibility stay matched at every location, so the whole program is run cleanly from a single place.

More on how we run administration.

Compliance across states

Compliance does not get simpler as you grow.

More locations and more states mean more eligibility variation, more plans, and more filings to keep on schedule. The named obligations are the same, ACA reporting (1094-C and 1095-C), COBRA, Section 125, ERISA plan documents, and Form 5500, but the full set can run to around 40 separate requirements once you add items like Summary of Benefits and Coverage, PCORI, prescription-drug (RxDC) reporting, and nondiscrimination testing.

Which of these apply depends on your size, your plans, and how they are funded. CBA coordinates the set that applies to you and keeps it on schedule, so a deadline does not pass quietly at one location while you are watching another. See how we handle compliance.

Common questions

Multi-location questions

Can one broker coordinate multiple payroll systems and carriers?
Yes. That is the core of what CBA does. We connect to your payroll and your carriers directly and keep eligibility and deductions in sync across locations, so the data does not drift between systems.
Do you handle employees in multiple states?
Yes. CBA is licensed nationwide. A multi-state workforce adds eligibility and compliance complexity, and coordinating that across states is part of the administration we run.
Our locations are on different payroll systems. Is that a problem?
No. Most of the time we can integrate with your payroll providers, with integration capabilities across 175 of the top systems, and we reconcile billing so payroll deductions match the carrier invoices.
